WATER SPORT VENUES

It's Where All The Action Is

There are just so many impressive, international-standard facilities here at KOSA and the surrounding areas that make it the perfect venue for the countless events held here all these years. While a huge part of it is water sports, other events have also been held here. With KOSA serving as the venue central, you can count on the nearby hotel, Pullman Hotel Putrajaya to provide accommodation and amenities to make your visit a little more special, and of course, the many eateries that serve local and international delicacies to please every palate. And did we mention the nearby airfield? It’s right opposite KOSA, which played host to the Red Bull Air Race.

Grandstand By The Lake

As the focal point and events central of KOSA, the grandstand is fully equipped to handle international events ranging from water sports to launches. Its Viewing Tower – a four-storey air-conditioned control tower is complete with VIP room and media room for the best event coverage. The Grandstand seats 800 people, with ample surrounding spaces to accommodate for more. Other facilities provided here include a surau and an anti-doping room.

Learn, train, compete, or just be part of the crowd, at the many water sports events held at KOSA. Over the years, KOSA has been the venue for events and activities such as dragon boat race events, as well as water ski and wakeboard championships.

Dragon Boat Race

Cruise Tasik Putrajaya KOSA hosts Dragon Boat events from time to time, which typically attract thousands of spectators. Since the first Putrajaya International Dragon Boat Festival in 2009 which saw more than 1,500 participants from around the world competing in the three-day event, the dragon boat events have been among the main crowd pullers in the area. Dragon boat races are usually colourful events that combine the elements of team work, speed, synchronization and endurance, which is something everyone can enjoy.

Water Skiing And Wakeboarding

Cruise Tasik Putrajaya KOSA also serves as the training ground and event venue for the more challenging waterski and wakeboard activities. While these sporting events are not exactly mainstream here in Malaysia, they are gaining popularity among the locals. The lake provides sufficient surface area for the sport, and the water quality is suitable for such activities.
